The practice required and expression of creativity are my favorite aspects of digital storytelling also. What apps or tools have you used in your classroom for filming and editing? Did you use your phone for this video or another tool?
I have mostly used I-movie in the classroom as I am the most comfortable with it. I am starting to hear about and explore other avenues as well. For this video, I did use a phone and just sent it over to I-Movie and mucked around with it.
Great view – both with the background AND with your thoughts – on this process. I definitely agree that the editing process with Grade 3s is very time-consuming. Hopefully, we can figure out a way to make it not so onerous!
I think the adobe spark app could be really easy for elementary level. They can record really short videos to put into the app on their own, include pictures they have taken or ones within the app, as well as record live audio. Check it out: spark.adobe.com!
I agree with Cheryl-I have used spark video with Grade 3-5 and they loved it! I enjoyed watching your vlog-ah the great outdoors! You’ve inspired me to maybe take a video for next week’s post…maybe…
Great video! I live like two blocks from your school!
One great things about the class/program we are in is that we get to see and try so many different online programs and software. I have found many programs I like for me and a bunch that would be great for my students. Also, it has given us the opportunity to find what doesn’t work.
